‘Akufo-Addo stabbed Mark Assibey at the back’- NPP MP confirms

Member of Parliament(MP) for Okaikwei-North in the Greater Accra Region Honourable Issah Fuseini has said with caution that the Flagstaff house didn’t help Mark Asibey-Yeboah, MP for New Juabeng South in the Eastern Region by not talking to persons who wanted to contest him in the primaries to step down as done for others.

The MP made this comments in a follow up answer to comments made by Honourable onbthe new day show on tv3 on monday 22nd June,2020.

Kwame Governs Agbodza who was also on the show said: “The NPP should be threading with caution. Although am an NDC MP, there are matters that concern all humans.”

“How can the party allow some MPs to go unopposed amd others opposed? Akufo Addo diddnt try for the likes of Mark Asibey Yeboah.”

“From my sources, it is said that if you are not a Cabinet minister you should be contested. Is he fair to others? What of those who are not in Cabinet but went unopposed, he asked?”

But Honourable Fuseini Issah couldn’t agree more when the Host, Berla Mundi asked him of his opinion.

He said: “I think I will agree to some extent. Mark Assibey is one of the hard working MPs in this Government. He heads the finance committee. He does lots of Government businesses.”

“He even sits in committee meetings that has nothing to do with him. Sometimes I could go to parliament very early only to see his car parked at the car park. He was very hard working.”

But the MP continued that it is high time the NPP party considered certain job descriptions of some MPs just like what has been done for the majority leader in order to allow them not to be contested at certain times.
